Quarantine Room

.

The large quarantine room at Wharf Marine plays a very important part, as all imported fish are quarantined for two weeks prior to going on sale.

This takes part in four separate systems; two nine-foot quarantine tanks house the larger species. Live rock is very important in any reef system and we have four large curing vats with rock from Fiji, Java and Tonga being brought in weekly.

A seven hundred and fifty gallon per day R/O unit takes care of Wharf Marines and customers' needs (no tap water is used onsite). The filtration for the shop is also housed in the quarantine room: two very large sumps, four trickle towers, four six-foot protein skimmers and twenty 55w UV sterilizers make up this system.

An important service we provide here is the systemized tanks that are built on-site - Wharf's Hi-Tide Systems can accommodate anybody’s marine needs, and can be built to your specification - or you can be guided by our competent staff who will design you a system suitable to your needs. The systems have external sumps that include trickle towers, protein skimmers, calcium reactors, kalkwasser stirrers, nitrate filters, uv sterilizers, auto top-up systems. Outside the sump, closed loop systems may be installed to provide the tank with water movement without the heat internal pumps generate. All these features contribute to make Wharf's Hi-Tide Systems the right choice.

The cabinets can also be matched to your décor - just provide us with a colour sample and we’ll do the rest. Different styles can also be catered for, call in and have a look at some of the examples in our showroom area.
